Ruth has been writing poetry for over 30 years and she says her life is one continuous
poem that has no ending. She is the grandmother of
eight grandchildren and great grandmother of two grandsons.
I'm originally from up North but have made my home is the South for over 30 years. I love
the outdoors; fishing not hiking, lost the ability to do that when I became disabled. Don't get me wrong I love my life and
I love where I am in my life. I praise Allah for who I am and for where I've been and where I'm going. From here there is
not place to go but up. I'm also an abstract artist and I paint on just about anything. My medium of choice is acrylic because
the colors are so bright and bold. I'm moved by colors, I feel them and colors can dictate your mood. I believe our life is
color coded.

My True Essence
My true essence of who I am can be found inside of me. What you see on the
outside is just a shell, a coat I wear to cover and protect the me inside. I am not what I wear, I am not my skin, I am not
my hair; but what I am lay deep inside of this garb we call a body. The body may go back to the dust but the true essence
of who I am will remain and live on seeking its final destination to be one with my Father God Allah.
